ABOUT REBECCA MATTAS

MY STORY.
MY MISSION.

Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Rebecca Mattas and I’m a Bell’s Palsy survivor. September 9, 2019 was the day I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. The onset of symptoms was so quick I instantly knew something wasn’t right. I thought I was having a stroke and went into panic mode. Immediately I went to check out my face and symptoms began to rapidly progress. Soon I found myself in the ER going through various tests and was prescribed an antiviral medication along with steroids.  The ER doctor encouraged me to follow up with my primary care doctor along with a surgeon in the upcoming weeks, and I was sent on my way.

Like many people when experiencing medical symptoms, I started to research Bell’s Palsy recovery, what to expect, what to avoid, how to speed up recover, what other people did and recommended and much more. I found myself stuck in this rabbit hole with lots of questions and not enough answers.  The information that I was finding was fragmented and often times controversial. That’s why I decided to get involved with bringing awareness to those recovering with acute Bell’s Palsy.

With the little information I found on Bell’s Palsy recovery I decided to reach out to professionals in holistic medication. Holistic medicine is a form of healing that considers the whole person, body, mind, spirit, and emotions. When I started to incorporate western medications along with holistic medicine it took recovery to a whole new speed. On average Bell’s Palsy recovery can take up to a year if not longer to recover. However, when incorporating holistic and western medicine along with learning new techniques to manage stress I found myself 95% recovered in 23 days. That’s less than a month!

Besides having a huge fear of getting on camera, I decided to record my whole journey so that people with Bell’s Palsy would know what to expect and how to speed up the recovery process.

I documented physical changes, the pain, my thoughts, the things I was holding onto (emotional and physical stuff), what happened at work, my insecurities, exercises I found useful to bring back muscles in my face and much more. I published everything for free on my YouTube channel.

How Can I Help?

Being a Bell’s Palsy coach, I know very well that people who get Bell’s Palsy are mostly alone in the whole process and need emotional support to go through this phase. I also know the fist step to recovery is gaining knowledge. I will explain what to expect, and give suggestions on what to do, avoid, when your diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy.

I’ve found various products (recommended by professionals) and face exercises that will make a huge impact and help you get your face back quickly. I want to give you the self-confidence boost you need to defeat this disease on your own. My main aim is to help people with Bell’s Palsy as much as I can so they don’t have to face similar insecurities and physical and etional pain as I did.
